Dear Ready Springs Families,
I am honored to join the Ready Springs community as principal beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. I look forward to getting to know students, staff, and families and working together to nurture a positive school environment.
My career in education spans 30 years and has included teaching, coaching, and school leadership. As a lifelong learner, I have earned bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees with studies focused on human development, education, and servant leadership. These experiences have shaped my belief that every student can succeed when supported by caring relationships, high expectations, and meaningful learning opportunities.
I began my career as a first-grade teacher, helping young students build strong foundational reading and writing skills. I later taught and coached at the junior high level while serving as a history teacher and athletic director. After 19 years in the classroom, I moved into administration, serving as a grade-level coordinator and deputy principal at a comprehensive high school before returning to an elementary setting.
Most recently, I served as principal of a TK-8 school, where I worked with staff to strengthen school safety, improve campus culture, implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), support early literacy programs, and establish consistent schoolwide behavior expectations.
On a personal note, family has always been very important to me. My wife and I have raised three sons, ages 28, 25, and 18. Over the years, I enjoyed coaching their soccer, baseball, and basketball teams. Today, we enjoy spending time together fishing, camping, hiking, snowboarding, and playing basketball. I am also blessed to be a grandfather to a
one-and-a-half-year-old grandson, with another on the way this October.
As I begin this new chapter at Ready Springs, I look forward to becoming part of the Stallion family. I am committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
Whether helping a teacher coordinate a History Fair, assisting a student with research, leading a community discussion on the Healthy Kids Survey, or coaching the mechanics of a good jump shot, I find great joy in being actively engaged with my school community.
Together, we will continue creating an environment where Stallions Strive for Excellence. I look forward to the year ahead.
Go Stallions!
Stephen Sweitzer, Ed.D.
